I Pledge
...to not be stupid. I pledge to remember history. I pledge to think for myself. I pledge to avoid mixing sentimentality with politics. I pledge to continue not listening to actors and actresses who try to tell me how I should live. I pledge to vote for someone who is not Barack Obama in 2012. I pledge to fight propaganda wherever I find it. I pledge to be respectful when I disagree, but to be unafraid to disagree nonetheless. I pledge to fight for the principles that made America great, rather than fight for the popular ideas that make others feel good. I pledge to challenge others to think through their decisions. I pledge to undermine any political effort that creates mindless zombie drones. I pledge to remember the terrible Third Reich, and to learn the lessons that so many seem to have forgotten: that popularity and principle are often at odds, that public opinion should never affect my character, and that there may come a time for me to stand against my government in the pursuit of what is right.
Take a moment to watch this very short clip. Ask yourself if you're totally comfortable with what you see. Watch it in its entirety here and ask yourself "are they mixing good ideas with potentially destructive ones?". Ask whether you want your own child to come home from school and tell you that they finally memorized the new Pledge of Allegiance.

I pledge to be a servant to our president? When you don't serve God and you don't love your country, I guess this is the next step.
Mindless zombies describes them accurately and it's shameful!
