Abortion is a Blessing?
Reasonable people - on both sides of the abortion issue - believe that the number of abortions needs to be reduced. Whether by adoption, education, or abstinence, almost everyone thinks that abortion is a negative. Unfortunately, there are also a bunch of unreasonable people out there who think otherwise.
The most radical among us (including those who understand the real reason for the creation of Planned Parenthood) believe that abortion is a good thing. Yes, some of them consider pregnancy a form of male tyranny, and abortion is their cure. Some have much more 'noble' reasons for thinking abortion is good. You might be surprised to find that one of these people is an Episcopal minister.
The ability to enjoy God's good gift of sexuality without compromising one's education, life's work, or ability to put to use God's gifts and call is simply blessing. These are the two things I want you, please, to remember - abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Let me hear you say it: abortion is a blessing and our work is not done. Of course, those of you familiar with the Episcopal church might not be surprised that one of their priests is an openly gay woman who's served on the board of NARAL Pro-Choice America and the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. What's surprising is that she was recently elected as the newest president of Episcopal Divinity School and was the unanimous choice of their Board of Trustees.
Please for pray for those in the Episcopal church, and for those influenced by such godlessness. Please pray for this woman.

The view expressed in this quote is a classic pro-choice view, with the unfortunately ambiguous phrasing of "Abortion is a blessing." She nowhere states she wishes the number of abortions per year where higher in the united state.
I asked a friend (pro-choice Presbyterian, if relevant) to give her first impressions of the quote, and she confusedly told me it look sort of pro-abortion. I believe this has to do with the use of the word abortion. While abortion is commonly used to refer to a specific instance of it happening i.e. "she is getting an abortion," it can also be used generally to refer to the operation i.e. "abortion is illegal unless performed by a licensed physician."
I assume Reverend Katherine was using the word the second way to refer to its existence as an option, since it seems more likely than promoting its specific occurrences as blessed by God.
